Art in public spaces, Hamburg
Photographer Michael Korte photographed 50 50-year-olds on the streets of Hamburg. The images were not retouched. The photographer used only light and shadow to interpret his subjects. The result is 50 very impressive and expressive images that portray this age group honestly, respectfully and eloquently.
Ein Dorf zeigt sich
room installation
The project ‘Ein Dorf zeigt sich’ (A Village Shows Itself) uses public space to create new encounters. To communicate. To discover common ground and bridge divides.
Line of Sight
Michael Korte drills conceptual holes in walls, looks closely through these holes, travels with his camera to a specific distant location on this specific axis, takes a photo there and returns with an image, which he then hangs on the original wall..

Schön, Euch gesehen zu haben!
For more than 20 years, the "Brücke"Bogeteria has been like my home. And when I sat outside in the sun with a glass of wine or a gin tonic, it always felt like a little holiday to me. Getting to know you and chatting with you made this time special.
As a photographer, I started placing a chair on the Bogeteria's doorstep and asking you to sit down for a moment so I could take a picture of you with my camera. The Bogeteria is ideal for my style of portraits, as the natural daylight usually fell softly on your faces and the room disappeared into the darkness as a backdrop. All I had to do was develop the pictures digitally without having to edit them.
